After adding to my last post with an additional missionary card that I sent, I realized that if you're a friend of mine you probably already have or will receive an amazing card such as the ones below. I love sending cards. If I walk past the card aisle I almost always have to look through it. I have a card collection of all these cards I feel I need, but I never want to give to anyone. Feel really important if you ever receive a card from my card collection.
I'm one of those people that if I see card or something that reminds me of someone I feel the need to give it to them. Especially cards. I once bought a card with two giraffes necking on it because it was the absolute best card for a friend of mine.... don't ask why. There was no reason to send the card except for the fact that it was just too perfect.
I love sending cards because who doesn't love getting a card in the mail?! I still remember as a child how excited I would get when I got something in the mail and how upset I would get when it was just a thank you card. If you didn't know this about me I hate thank you cards. I always have ever since I was a little kid. The feelings of disappoint from a thank you card instead of something cool has always remained with me. Send a card telling the person how awesome they are not a thank you card. Just so you know I have been known to send a thank you note or two, I just really don't like it.

The Greatest Missionary Cards Ever Sent
Inside it said, "Let's be friends forever and ever."
Inside it said, "We'll always be friends. (I swear)."
People are the most interesting thing there is
Gosh, I need to get better at this whole blogging thing. I was obsessed and then I just ditched it...like everything else I start. I guess I felt like I didn't really have much to say now that I'm at home and have been doing basically nothing. In the last few days I have read 4 books and am half way through my 5th. Yes, I have had that much time on my hands. I would like to say however, that The Hunger Games Trilogy is very gripping. I couldn't put any of the books down. I had all three read in 2 1/2 days. They are a little bit on the disturbing side, but alas I loved each and every page.
Sometimes I find books that have a touch of a scare factor keep my interest the longest. Not in the usual sense. I mean I don't like horror. I like seeing people in new lights. It's the same as studying history or watching television, it helps me figure people out. I'm always fascinated by how far people can go, how crazy someone can get or how one person can make such a difference in the lives of so many.
This is one of the many reasons I find myself drawn to art, history, television and literature because I love to look into other people's worlds. I recently had a friend ask me what I loved about film. I told him that it was my way of understanding people, my way of looking into worlds that I would never encounter otherwise. Honestly, I'm not sure if I had ever really realized that was why I love film so much until then. After that conversation I realized that was really my reasoning for being interested in anything. People are the most interesting thing there is.

Never Thought I'd Love to be Busy
These past few weeks of Spring term have been so crazy! I had been constantly busy up until I finished finals a few days ago. Since then I have just been recovering. I would like to say that I think I almost lost my mind these last few weeks. I came very close to having some break downs. I didn't even have time to cry, sleep or eat.
This last term I was in an Intro to Advertising class that basically ran my life. Luckily, I had a pretty awesome group to work on my project with. The real problem is that it was insane to have done the amount of work that we did in about a 7 week period of time. I am beyond glad that it's over now. I learned a lot though. I am also so proud of what we ended up with.
It's funny to talk to people who aren't in your major because after my project was all done all I wanted to do was show my project to anyone and everyone. To me it was the most exciting thing ever to look at up until I started showing people. It it always depressing when you think something is really cool and then you start talking about it and you realize you're probably the only one who thinks that's cool.
Yet again the story of my life, being interested in things that everyone else isn't. I finished both my finals on Wednesday thinking that would provide me with more time to do things. Little did I know that I didn't really have anything to do. I am lucky to have friends that live around Utah or else I would have literally had nothing to do for the last few days.
Now thinking back on it I have actually done quite a few things in the last few days. I need to stop focusing on the times that I sat around my couch and watched "Swamp People" on Netflix...that was a low point. On Thursday I ended up going swimming at this awesome mansion that my friend lives in with my advertising group and some friends from SVU. Then on Friday I went out with an old friend that I haven't seen since the 8th grade.
That I will tell you was an interesting experience. It's funny to run into people from your past life because in your mind they are still where you left them. In some ways it was really fun because I had the opportunity to think about what I was like in middle school. It made me realize how incredibly silly I was back then. We both laughed for hours talking about late night Sims playing, mix CDs we made, playing Halo, jumping on trampolines and playing silly tricks on each other. Talking to her made me miss people I haven't seen in years. It also inspired to write a couple missionaries and tell them of my new adventures.
Later that evening I had the opportunity to go to "The Art of Getting By." I will say that I enjoyed it and it is a well made movie however, Emma Robert's character is quite the little skank. Then this morning I attended a ward activity in which we played "water games." I put water games in quotes because that was what we were supposed to be doing. That's what they advertised the activity as being anyway.
We did end up playing in the water, but mainly all they brought was a few water balloons that were gone pretty fast. Then they just had some get to know you games (which we all know how much I love those), volleyball and frisbee. What ended up happening was people starting filled a bucket full of river water and chased people while dumping the water on their heads. Yes, the bucket was dumped on my head multiple times. It was freezing cold water. I will admit that I liked it though. It was a good time.
These last few days have been stress free and that has been a plus. I will say I am looking forward to some down time at home, but I will miss the craziness. I always thought I didn't like being so busy until I wasn't busy and realized I hate being bored. Hopefully one day I will be able to find a balance.

I love my missionaries
Mondays are the best because I get letters and emails from my missionaries. I got a letter from Elder Stoker today and every time I read one of his letters he always makes me feel so happy. He is such a sweet young man and his letters always uplift me. Reading how strong my friend's testimonies have gotten has given me the ability to strengthen my own. I love to hear how they are changing people's lives and how the gospel can bring so much joy. I love all my missionary boys so much and I am so proud of all they are doing. Though I love them as missionaries I count down the days until I can hug them again. Missionaries are the best!
Dinner Party of all Dinner Parties
Most of you know that cooking and baking is basically my favorite activity. I have taken it upon myself lately to have a dinner party every now and again to be able to try out new recipes and get to know new people. Last night we had the greatest dinner party thus far. Everyone's personalities flowed perfectly and the conversation was weird and fantastic.
I invited a guy from my Advertising class and he fit right in with my friends. He told me that he enjoyed himself because everyone was weird like him. I should mention that we didn't hold back at all. We showed off our Youtube videos, our dance video, played jinx the whole time and even talked about being nicknamed after Pokemon in high school. Yes we are really cool people.
I really enjoy it when the conversation is so easy to get going. It was nice to feel that everyone felt comfortable with each other and were willing to laugh really hard and tell ridiculous stories.
The dinner turned out excellent too if I may add. We had an authentic Greek salad, Macaroni bacon and corn pie and Baked Alaska for dessert. Everything seemed to be a huge hit. We ended up with no left overs and when it came to the dessert some people had several servings.
Yes we were pretty weird and outrageous the whole evening of the dinner party, but nothing will compare to after the dinner party. My roommate and I went a little bit crazy at ward prayer. I don't know if it was just because it was getting later and we had just started to get crazy at the dinner party or what. To start off we were not exactly in the circle, we were actually trying really hard to not be picked to introduce ourselves and my roommate was suffering from drinking too much lemonade at dinner.
A friend of ours came over to us and accused us of making fun of the people introducing themselves. We explained that we were actually singing The Braceface Theme song. We told her that clearly she had mistaken us for "cool" people that make fun of people, but actually we were lame and singing the theme song of a show we watched in middle school.
As the night continued we made up jokes and started discussing a fake company that we were going to get started. I won't tell you what the company is since that is top secret unless you have been invited to be part of the company. But basically we made up the term "producing" whenever the company is in business. Yes I realize this all sounds weird and I will not deny that it is.
After ward prayer we were invited to a game night. I feel bad for the people in attendance because my roommate, our friend from ward prayer, one of our guy friends from the ward and I were being extremely immature and laughing at our own jokes the entire night. We may have even broken their couch a little bit. Not on purpose...it appeared to be already slightly be broken. Next time we probably all shouldn't sit there. We had a hard time paying attention as well because we were too absorbed in making up fake stories and calling my roommate Bean. Yes Bean is her new nickname. All in all it was the best Sunday in a while.
I Have the Greatest Visiting Teachers
First thing I should mention about Sunday was I discovered I have the coolest visiting teachers. It's too bad that they will only be my visiting teachers for a couple more weeks of Spring Term, but I am happy for the time we have nonetheless. It started out as a pretty usual visit discussing General Conference and the gospel, but as time progressed the conversation moved. We talked about the amazingness that is Justin Bieber and how after we saw his movie we no longer felt the need to be embarrassed about having Bieber Fever. Let's all face it Bieber is an inspiration.
Another thing I should mention is one of my visiting teachers is really good friends with Chipotle Guy. I went to a few different events with Chipotle Guy that she was at and so we had gotten to know each other a little bit. We ended up laughing about the whole Chipotle incident and she told me that she was frustrated at Chipotle Guy because she liked me. I will say that probably made my day. Let's just say I plan on being very good friends with this young lady. It appears that Chipotle brings me luck.

BBQs are hilarious
On this lovely evening my roommate, my friend and I went to a stake BBQ. You may think that sounds pretty normal and in some ways it was. In other ways it was craziness. I will tell you a little something about BYU, there always seems to be RMs scoping for young single ladies and then there also always seems to be weird people that feel the need to get in your space.
First of all I should mention that there were about a million people there and there was not even close to enough room for everyone in attendance. Us being the anti-social individuals that we are we chose to sit next to some random "adult" couple that introduced themselves as Sister Whatever and Brother Whatever. They were a pretty awkward pair if I do say so myself. Brother Whatever had a nice comb over and some snazzy glasses, whereas Sister Whatever had an old-fashioned pixie cut and a horrific laugh. Needless to say we were having the time of our lives.
When Brother Whatever left the table to check out the cookies Sister Whatever took it upon herself to tell us how her husband had brought the fruit snacks because he gets them for free at his work. She seemed rather proud of this and continued to discuss how outrageous it was that he had already had to refill the bowl multiple times. All three of us chimed in with the appropriate amount of fake laughter and mustered smiles seeing how we weren't sure why we were supposed to care.
Once Brother Whatever got back he seemed confused as to why Sister Whatever was talking to us and quickly nabbed her attention. It's pretty sad that we couldn't even keep Sister Whatever's attention. Pretty soon after, Brother Whatever thought they should stand so more people could have room to sit and enjoy their meal. We fairly quickly realized we should probably do the same and came to the conclusion that we were done with this event. However, right when we felt the need to leave two young gentlemen asked if they could sit by us.
Clearly we had to say yes and don't get me wrong they were pretty cute, but let me tell you something about myself. I have the tendency to give men the cold shoulder and my friend tends to pretty much do the same thing. Therefore, we should probably not talk to men together. Personally looking back we may have been a bit rude. We both just answered each question asked briskly and nonchalantly and didn't bother to ask them any questions back. Why you may ask....I don't know.
As the pointless conversation continued my friend expressed the desire to play ping-pong. The young man that had his eye on her jumped at the chance. My roommate and I watched as he tried to put the moves on her and joked about how she would be done once he got her number. I will say that my friend may have enjoyed herself playing ping-pong, but she missed out on the greatest conversation of the evening.
While we were watching her play we noticed that there were piles of board games in front us. One that we lingered on a little longer than the others was: "Settlers of Zarahemla." I had just pointed at the game when some random lady came up to me and asked if I'd ever played. I told her I'd never really heard of it before and instead of just then walking away Sister Crazy continued speaking. She went off on a tangent about a movie called "Passages to Zarahemla." Telling us about how she thought it was going to be bad, but it was actually good and how this little girl travels through some veil to the Nephite time and meets some little boy. Then she goes back to normal time and grows up and once again travels to Nephite time to meet the boy again....and you guessed it they fall in love! During, this long tangent about some movie I will never watch she grabbed my hand and started raving about how hot the guy in the movie was. Her eyes were bulgy and insane as she went on to tell me I should look it up online and if I couldn't find it I could borrow hers. This whole time I was thinking, "Lady I think you're insane there is no way I'm going to find your number and then borrow some dumb movie from you." It was an interesting experience.
Pretty soon after Sister Crazy's tangent our friend told her new "favorite" ping-pong partner that her friends clearly wanted to leave. Yes we were her excuse. She told us after that he tried to come hang out with us. You got to give the guy props for his efforts. And yes he did get her number. He also texted her about a half hour later to tell her that her ping-pong efforts were excellent. Oh the joys of flirting. In the end this event lived up to expectations: there was flirting, there was food, there were weird people, there was drama, there was heartbreak. What else could you really ask for, right?

Joys of Packages
I received the best gift in the mail, pictures of my 17th birthday. Have you ever looked at pictures of yourself that don't seem that old and think "Wow, I look like a baby." These pictures are priceless. I was also gifted with the Disney channel original movie genius that is "Lemonade Mouth." Yes, I love that movie. I've read the book. I love the soundtrack. I know all the words. I will even say that I got in an argument with someone regarding the movie being awesome.

New Favorite Song
I admit it I have been dancing to this song in the mirror all day. I have been convincing myself over and over again that I NEED to listen to this song just one more time instead of doing my homework. I hate to tell you this, but I get distracted really easily. For example I can't study with other people. I always have a story that pops into my head and I need to tell someone. It's an addiction. I also feel like this blog is going to become an obsession. Recently I had to do a media log in my communications class. And I discovered I am addicted Facebook. Embarrassing, believe me I know. I'm pretty sure if I had to do another one I would discover I have already become addicted to blogging...
I love my roommate
After reading my blog post my roommate came up to me and said, "I knew you were just trying to go to the grocery store." She knows me too well. Luckily she loves me anyway even if she says it's only sometimes. I admit it everyone I am a little bit manipulative. It happens to the best of us. Also after making this blog she has also started a blog if you would like check it out http://thelifeofrad-ness.blogspot.com. She's pretty entertaining. If she wasn't I wouldn't be her friend. As my good friend once quoted me saying, "I hate people who aren't funny."
