Never Thought I'd Love to be Busy

These past few weeks of Spring term have been so crazy! I had been constantly busy up until I finished finals a few days ago. Since then I have just been recovering. I would like to say that I think I almost lost my mind these last few weeks. I came very close to having some break downs. I didn't even have time to cry, sleep or eat.
This last term I was in an Intro to Advertising class that basically ran my life. Luckily, I had a pretty awesome group to work on my project with. The real problem is that it was insane to have done the amount of work that we did in about a 7 week period of time. I am beyond glad that it's over now. I learned a lot though. I am also so proud of what we ended up with.
It's funny to talk to people who aren't in your major because after my project was all done all I wanted to do was show my project to anyone and everyone. To me it was the most exciting thing ever to look at up until I started showing people. It it always depressing when you think something is really cool and then you start talking about it and you realize you're probably the only one who thinks that's cool.
Yet again the story of my life, being interested in things that everyone else isn't. I finished both my finals on Wednesday thinking that would provide me with more time to do things. Little did I know that I didn't really have anything to do. I am lucky to have friends that live around Utah or else I would have literally had nothing to do for the last few days.
Now thinking back on it I have actually done quite a few things in the last few days. I need to stop focusing on the times that I sat around my couch and watched "Swamp People" on Netflix...that was a low point. On Thursday I ended up going swimming at this awesome mansion that my friend lives in with my advertising group and some friends from SVU. Then on Friday I went out with an old friend that I haven't seen since the 8th grade.
That I will tell you was an interesting experience. It's funny to run into people from your past life because in your mind they are still where you left them. In some ways it was really fun because I had the opportunity to think about what I was like in middle school. It made me realize how incredibly silly I was back then. We both laughed for hours talking about late night Sims playing, mix CDs we made, playing Halo, jumping on trampolines and playing silly tricks on each other. Talking to her made me miss people I haven't seen in years. It also inspired to write a couple missionaries and tell them of my new adventures.
Later that evening I had the opportunity to go to "The Art of Getting By." I will say that I enjoyed it and it is a well made movie however, Emma Robert's character is quite the little skank. Then this morning I attended a ward activity in which we played "water games." I put water games in quotes because that was what we were supposed to be doing. That's what they advertised the activity as being anyway.
We did end up playing in the water, but mainly all they brought was a few water balloons that were gone pretty fast. Then they just had some get to know you games (which we all know how much I love those), volleyball and frisbee. What ended up happening was people starting filled a bucket full of river water and chased people while dumping the water on their heads. Yes, the bucket was dumped on my head multiple times. It was freezing cold water. I will admit that I liked it though. It was a good time.
These last few days have been stress free and that has been a plus. I will say I am looking forward to some down time at home, but I will miss the craziness. I always thought I didn't like being so busy until I wasn't busy and realized I hate being bored. Hopefully one day I will be able to find a balance.

  1. I totally understand the feeling about being so excited about something and realizing how boring everyone else thinks it is once you start talking about it. Story of my life for my last year in college.
